The lack of a Start button on the consumer preview of Windows 8 left some surprised, perhaps even shocked. Maybe confused is a better descriptor.
The reason Windows 8 is in Consumer Preview prerelease form is so that users can tell Microsoft what they like and dislike about the upcoming OS. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see a modified Start menu find its way into Windows 8′s desktop mode if enough testers raise a clamor over its absence.
For the time being, thanks to some tools that you can use to get your favorite start button back.
Some of these are:
1. Start8 from Stardock (Download here)
2. ViStart from leeSoft (Download here)
3. Classic Shell from Soureforge (Download here)

Try any of these utilities and you can get your start button back.
