In the previous article, you had learnt about how to download and configure the Java JDK and the Android SDK. Now we will see how to setup Eclipse.

Talking of Eclipse, you would be having a zip file of Eclipse, which you must have download earlier. If not, visit here to download Eclipse. Now, simply extract the contents of the file to a folder. After this your folder should be as shown in image.

Now the last step is to install the ADT plugin for Eclipse.

- Run Eclipse from the folder, where you had extracted the zip file of Eclipse.
- Go to Help -> Install new Software -> Click Add, in the top-right corner.

- In the Add Repository dialog that appears, enter “ADT Plugin” for the Name and the following URL for the Location:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

- Click OK.
- In the Available Software dialog, select the check-box next to Developer Tools and click Next.
- In the next window, you’ll see a list of the tools to be downloaded. Click Next. Read and accept the license agreements, then click Finish.
Note: If you get a security warning saying that the authenticity or validity of the software can’t be established, click OK.
- When the installation completes, restart Eclipse.

After restarting Eclipse click on Windows -> Preferences

- In the left side click on Android
- Now in the top, it would be asking for the SDK Location. Simply browse to the folder, where you had installed/extracted the Android SDK – Click OK.

- Now click “Apply” in bottom-right.
- Once done, it should load a list of the available SDK platforms.
- Click OK.

Congrats! Now your system is configured for Application Development in Android.
