We live in a world where the Internet is now the master of our times: to communicate with friends we rely on social networks or IM programs, listen to music we link to YouTube so we can share documents using a variety of services like Google Docs or send attachments via email. These are just some examples of daily use of an internet connection, but often not all have the desire to pay the exorbitant phone rates ADSL and prefer to spend some time to sniff packets and steal a neighbor’s WiFi password

If you are concerned that someone may be able to mooch your wireless network , and look for a tool to monitor the situation, then I recommend  Wireless Network Watcher . Wireless Network Watcher is a small utility that scans the wireless network and displays the list of all computers and devices that are currently connected to the network. For each computer or device connected to the network, the information displayed is as follows:
  • IP address
  • the MAC address
  • the company that produced the network card
  • the computer name (optional)
You can also export the list of devices the format html / xml / csv / text file , or copy the list in the clipboard and then paste it into Excel or other spreadsheet applications such as Calc LibreOffice. It ‘s very important to find out who, wrongly, takes advantage of our wireless connection because it could significantly lower the navigation capabilities and the power of our downloads.
And Linux users? If you are a user of the penguin you can rely AutoScan-Network or learn to be familiar with the command netstat .
To disconnect the user side, usually just enter the configuration page of your router and from there go to the section on monitoring of the connection, expelling the intruder
